Randolph Community Partnership Inc.

Our Mission

Randolph Community Partnership, Inc. (RCP) is an adult education organization open to all Massachusetts residents. Through English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), high school equivalency (HSE), and other classes, RCP helps students develop and achieve their personal and professional goals.

Our history

In the beginning, RCP consisted of a small group of Randolph residents, businessmen, and local officials who came together to take action on the increasing demands from the community for an English program. In 1998, the Chinese American Neighborhood Development Organization (CAN-DO) and the Partnership received a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to run a basic ESOL program. RCP has been providing ESOL classes since.

Through additional grants, the ESOL program expanded to include a health component in the curriculum, citizenship classes, and computer classes for students. In 2002, the organization was incorporated as a 501(c)3 and officially became the Randolph Community Partnership, Inc.

In the spring of 2005, RCP received a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. With this funding, we were able to expand, offering 3 levels of English: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. We also offered citizenship and basic computer skills classes for our enrolled ESOL students.

In June 2012, RCP was awarded state funding from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to continue offering ESOL classes and start offering high school equivalency classes.

We currently offer 6 ESOL classes (4 beginner, 1 intermediate, and 1 advanced) and 2 adult basic/secondary education classes (HSE).

Program Updates

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced that beginning in January 2017, all Adult Basic Education students will have the choice of taking either the GED or the HiSET as the high school equivalency exam in Massachusetts.

Both exams will continue to measure whether adult learners and out-of-school youth qualify for the Massachusetts High School Equivalency Certificate, a pivotal step for adult learners who do not possess a high school diploma but require a certified education credential.

In October 2023 we will launch our inaugural MassSTEP ESOL Food Service training program! In collaboration with Quincy Asian Resources, Inc. (QARI), we will provide ESOL, Civics, and career-specific training to intermediate and advanced ESOL learners. We will offer 2 sessions: winter and spring. This training program is available at NO COST. Please visit our MassSTEP page for more details and to register.

In November of 2023, RCP became an official HSE testing center. All eligible individuals can register for and take their HiSET exam onsite.

FUNDING Updates

In June of 2021, RCP received MA COVID-19 Community Grant funding from Health Resources in Action (HRiA). HRiA works with individuals or organizations committed to funding innovations that contribute to advancing health. The goal of this funding is to reduce COVID-19 infections, morbidity, and mortality among Asian, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other people of color in our hardest-hit cities and towns, as well as to support education and awareness of vaccination efforts in Massachusetts. In January 2022 RCP received another MA COVID-( Community Grant from HRiA. The first two rounds of funding, along with a collaborative effort with the Town of Randolph, provided access to vaccination clinics and up-to-date information and education. RCP also collaborated with performers from Stajez Cultural Arts Center in Randolph to produce a video designed to prompt youth thought and conversation on the impact of COVID and the vaccine.

Beginning in June 2022, RCP received a 3rd MA COVID-19 Community Grant. This third grant allows us to partner with Quincy Asian Resources, Inc. (QARI) to provide services related to the effects that COVID-19 has had on our community. RCP and QARI will provide access to mental health services for their clients and offer scholarships to enrolled students to enter training programs. RCP will also host a community Family Fun Day in early October 2022. The event will include children’s activities, food trucks, and access to an on-site vaccination clinic.

COVID Impact video sponsored by Health Resources in Action and filmed in collaboration with Stajez Cultural Arts Center.
