English for Speakers of Other Languages
RCP’s English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program gives students the skills and confidence to speak English. These skills can lead to job opportunities, promotions, and can be useful in helping children with homework, and communicating with neighbors, doctors, store clerks, and so much more.
RCP offers three levels of ESOL. Level one is a basic class for students with no or very little English. From there students can move through the levels to become fluent. All incoming students take a placement exam and are periodically tested to ensure they are at the correct level. Students benefit from personal attention in our small interactive classes. Our teachers are experienced, patient, and encouraging. In addition to beginner through advanced English speaking, reading, and writing students will also benefit from:
Computer training—Web; email; social media; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Educational and career advising—individual advising, classroom presentations, practice completing job applications and interviewing, connection to education and training programs
Student support—practice calling children’s teachers, doctors’ offices, businesses; referrals to houses of worship (that speak your language).
