What is the HiSET Exam?

The HiSET Exam is an alternative way for adults to earn an official government document equivalent to a high school diploma. By taking the HiSET®, you can earn a state-issued high school equivalency credential, allowing you to advance your career, join the military, begin a training program, or continue your education. The HiSET Exam is made up of five (5) tests - language arts (reading), language arts (writing), mathematics, science, and social studies. Information about each test can be found here.

Free HiSET® Testing for MA Residents Starting February 6, 2023

When scheduling your HiSET® test at an official test center or at home, enter a promo code MAHISET during the checkout.

*The Commonwealth of Massachusetts will pay for a candidate's first HiSET® test in each subject plus two retakes per subject. More information can be found here.

All interested candidates may now schedule any or all parts of the HSE exam at our location.

Testing takes place in the RHS library. Exam days are Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.
