Thank you for contacting us about our adult education program. Our classes are offered free of charge and are sponsored by a grant from the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. All Massachusetts residents aged 16 years and older are eligible to enroll. Students cannot be currently enrolled in a public high school. If they are, we require an official withdrawal letter before enrollment.
All interested students need to take a placement test before being enrolled in a class. Our Assessment Coordinator will reach out to schedule an appointment for testing. At the current time, all testing and classes are being held in person.
After taking the placement test, students are either enrolled in a class or added to the waitlist (depending on class availability). All enrollments are normally done on a monthly basis, typically the first Tuesday of each month. Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30pm-9:30pm. Students are also assigned independent work that is also required. We follow the same schedule as Randolph Public Schools so we begin in September and end in June. We also observe all school holidays and vacations.
The length of time a student is with us varies depending on the academic level at intake and level of commitment. Students are tested up to 3 times per year with a state-mandated test. This test helps us monitor student progress and gives us an idea about areas of strength and weakness. It also helps us gauge students’ readiness to move up into a more challenging class.
For high school equivalency students: Please note that we offer free preparation classes only. The cost to take the high school equivalency exam is the responsibility of the student.
